Don’t you wanna dance with me? No?
I could dance like Michael Jaaaackson
One thing that is very important to me in establishing an online presence is making sure that I am connecting with my audience and they are connecting with me as well. In the about section of the blog I talk about how Creative Curves started. Today I wanted to give you a glimpse into the creator of Creative Curves. So, here we go.
Hey friends! My name is Yureka Pirtle, I am a millennial, a mom, a wife, a counselor and I am currently balancing about 20 more roles. I am from Holly Springs, Ms. It’s okay if you don’t know where that is right now. Just know it is the cutest retirement city that you could ever visit. When I wanted to take a break from the city normally I would just go to Mississippi. The reason that I have mentioned my city of birth is that I believe that it plays a huge part in the foundation of my personality. Friends and family would describe me as really laid back and quiet. However, I tend to get myself into a lot of trouble because my Gemini often takes over. I live for new experiences and the adrenaline rush! Now I am not talking about physical adrenaline, but the adrenaline that you get from doing something that you have never done before.
True story. I entered pageantry on a dare. I told some friends and family I was interested in competing in a national pageant. The responses that I received were nonchalant. Although, I have to give them credit because I really do have a lot of ideas that somehow always come to me when I’m in the shower. Despite being a little shaky on what I was doing or even why I was doing it, I won that pageant yall! I competed as Miss Mississippi in the American Beauties Plus Pageant and I won! I often play this moment back in my head and think “what if I never entered”?
Over the years, I have begun to be a junkie for those experiences. I seek them out. I am often asked how to get started in pageantry or modeling. I always tell ladies to research and just start. Sometimes it difficult to follow my own advice but whenever I have, I was proud of myself 100 percent of the time.
Did yall catch the Drake lyrics in the title? Have you ever noticed how smooth Drake’s beats are in most of his songs? I get serious sway vibes when listening. Let’s vibe like a Drake song.
